Kailua-Kona, HI – Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) is proud to announce the promotion of Janete Palma Camacho to Branch Manager of its Kaloko location. Janete previously served as a Loan Officer at HCFCU’s Kailua Branch, where she has been a valued team member since July 2023.
With 30 years of lending experience, Janete brings extensive knowledge of mortgage and consumer lending, exceptional member-focused service, and a strong record of leadership to her new role. During her time at the Kailua Branch, she was known for her ability to build rapport with members, underwrite loans efficiently, and support her team through training, collaboration, and positive teamwork. She also contributed to several internal committees and regularly volunteered at community events across Hawaii Island.
“We’re excited to welcome Janete into this leadership role,” said Tricia Buskirk, CEO and President of HCFCU. “Her decades of lending experience, dedication to our members, and commitment to fostering a positive team environment make her an excellent fit for the Kaloko Branch Manager position. Janete’s heart for service truly reflects the values of our HCFCU ohana.”
Before joining HCFCU, Janete worked as a Sales Consultant with The Hartford, where she supported and trained new team members as a licensed insurance agent. She also spent many years as a mortgage consultant with State Farm Bank and Wells Fargo. In those roles, she built trusted relationships in the community, guided borrowers through complex lending processes, and collaborated closely with branch teams and local agents.
Janete holds a B.S. in Technical Management and an A.S. in Marketing, and she maintains her NMLS certification. She is fluent in English and Spanish and stays active in the community through the St. Michael Women’s Group and the Easter Sunrise Service Hula Dance Group. She has also served as a PTA President and catechist teacher, and is a 2nd-degree Taekwondo black belt. In her free time, Janete enjoys prayer, time with her family, gardening, and sewing.
HCFCU congratulates Janete on this well-deserved promotion and looks forward to her leadership at the Kaloko Branch.
