  5. Prizes For Contest
    1. Contest Drawing Prize (1 Winner at each of our six branches)
Six (6) total winners will be selected, with one (1) winner selected per each of HCFCU's six branch locations, and each winner will receive the following Island BBQ Bundle:
Americana Walk-A-Bout Charcoal "Original Square Grill," Expert Grill Stainless Steel Grilling Set, Engraved Wooden Cutting Board, and $50 KTA Gift Card.
Suggested retail value of The Island BBQ Bundle is approximately $202.

(Prize availability subject to change without prior notice; substitutions of equal or greater value may be made at HCFCU’s discretion.) Each winner will be solely responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes, and for any other fees or costs associated with the prize awarded. If the actual retail value of the prize awarded meets or exceeds the IRS reporting threshold ($600 or more), each winner will receive IRS Form 1099-MISC for the actual retail value of the prize as required by federal tax law. Consult your tax advisor and/or financial advisor regarding the tax implications. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be substituted or redeemed for cash.

    2. Prize Pickup
Contest prize winners who opened a new checking account must pick up their prize from the HCFCU branch where their new checking account was opened. Mail-in entry winners will be randomly assigned to one of the six branch locations (Hilo, Honokaa, Kailua, Kaloko, Kealakekua, and Kohala) for prize pickup and will be notified of their designated branch location at the time of winner notification. All prizes must be claimed within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of HCFCU's first winner notification attempt (whether or not such notification is actually received by the winner), or the prize will be forfeited. Forfeited prizes may be awarded to alternate winners at Sponsor's discretion.

Each winner is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes associated with prize acceptance and must provide required tax documentation as specified in Section 7.

  6. Referral Gift Promotion
Eligible referring members will receive one (1) $25 gift card for each qualifying referral that results in a new checking account being opened and maintained in good standing during the Promotional Period. No limit on the number of referral gifts earned. Gift card may be redeemed either by using the secured link sent to referrer via email or by redeeming the gift card in person at any branch location. If referral gifts to a single member total $600 or more in a calendar year, HCFCU will report the total value on IRS Form 1099-MISC as required by federal tax law.

  7. Winner Selection & Notification
The random contest drawing is scheduled to occur on or around July 31, 2026, from all eligible entries received by the contest sponsor. The drawing will be conducted by an independent third party or by a HCFCU representative who has not been involved in the promotion's marketing, entry processing, or administration to ensure fairness and impartiality. Potential winners will be notified in-person, or by telephone, U.S. mail, or email. All potential winners must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and being declared an official winner is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Potential winners may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility/compliance (including providing his/her Social Security Number for tax purposes if required by law) and a publicity/liability release ("Release"), as allowed by law, within five (5) business days of notification attempt or he/she will forfeit the prize. In the event of prize forfeiture, a potential winner is unreachable, the prize notification is undeliverable, or if a potential winner declines acceptance of the prize, Sponsor may award the prize to a randomly selected alternate potential winner. All potential winners of the Contest are subject to verification by Sponsor, whose decisions as to the administration and operation of the Contest and the selection and verification of potential winners are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. All materials submitted become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Winners may be announced on www.hicommfcu.com and will be contacted personally by the Contest Sponsor via phone and/or email. Winners may also be announced in newsletter and press release formats. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant may be required to show proper photo identification. Any selected entrant who cannot be contacted (or who fails to respond to any telephone message or email left for such selected entrant), or who refuses to sign a declaration and release form within 5 business days of the Contest Sponsor's first attempt to contact such selected entrant may, at the sole discretion of the Contest Sponsor, be declared ineligible and the Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in such event, in its sole discretion, to determine one or more additional entrants whom they shall attempt to contact, and who shall be subject to disqualification, in the same manner.

  8. Odds of Winning
Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received per branch location. For example, if 1,000 entries are received at a single branch, the odds of winning a prize at that branch are 1/1,000. Since there are six (6) branch locations with one (1) winner selected per branch through separate drawings, participants' overall odds of winning depend on both the number of entries at their designated branch and the total number of entries across all branches.

  9. Publicity Release
By entering this Contest, each participant grants HCFCU the perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide right to use their name, likeness, city, state, and photograph for promotional purposes without additional compensation, consideration or payment, except where prohibited by law. Winners may be required to sign a separate publicity release as a condition of prize acceptance.

  10. Consent to Contact
By entering, participants agree that HCFCU may contact them via phone or email for winner notification purposes. Standard message or data rates may apply.

  11. General Conditions
By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules and to HCFCU’s decisions, which are final in all matters relating to the Promotion. HCFCU reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Promotion if technical issues, fraud, or other factors compromise the integrity of the Promotion.

This Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. If any provision of these Official Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

  12. General Release
The Contest Sponsor extends absolutely no representations or warranties in respect of any prizes and accepts no liability arising in respect of such prize. Each entrant hereby agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless HCFCU, its subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents and sponsors from any claims, actions, damages, losses or injury of any kind including but not limited to personal injury or death, resulting from participating in the Contest or from acceptance, use or misuse of a prize awarded or participation in any prize-related activity, except where such release is prohibited by law or to the extent caused by HCFCU's gross negligence or willful misconduct.
