2018-2019 Board of Directors

Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) announced three members nominated to the nine-member board of directors by the Nominations and Election Committee at their 81st Annual Membership Meeting & Luncheon held on May 5, 2018 at the Hapuna Beach Resort.  Thomas Griffiths, former President & CEO of the Iowa Credit Union League, Carol S. Ikeda, retiree of UH College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources and Chrystal Thomas Yamasaki, owner of Wes Thomas Associates have been nominated for another full term.   David De Luz Jr., vice president of Big Island Toyota, Inc. was nominated to a fill a remaining 2 year term left vacant after former Board of Director, Marilyn Koschella retired to return to her home state of Nevada.  David S. De Luz Jr. previously served as HCFCU’s Supervisory Committee Member.  

The Board Officers are Dwight Manago a chairman, Daryl Kurozawa as vice chairman, Lloyd Tanaka as treasurer and Chrystal Yamasaki as secretary.  

Also serving on the Board from 2018 – 2018 are Peggy M. Ciriako and Russell Komo.  
Board members serve three-year terms on a voluntary basis.  They are responsible for providing direction to management to meet members’ financial needs, as well as maintain the sound fiscal condition of the Credit Union.

Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit, federally insured financial institution owned by its 40,000 members.  HCFCU’s branches are located in Honokaa, Kailua-Kona, Kaloko, Kealakekua, Kohala and a new Hilo branch set to open in late 2018, along with Student Credit Unions in Kealakehe, Kohala and Konawaena High Schools.  In addition to complete checking and savings services, HCFCU provides service-minded financial professionals to help facilitate mortgage, land, construction, small business, educational, personal and auto loans; drive up tellers; credit and debit cards with rewards; online and mobile banking; investment services and youth programs.  HCFCU also supports numerous Hawaii Island non-profit organizations and community events.  Membership in Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is open to all Hawaii Island residents.
