Deposit Days
Children's Savings Project - Deposit Days

A penny saved is a penny earned. The Children's Savings Project is a state-wide initiative that partners community credit unions with public elementary schools. The goal of the project is to help develop young savvy savers.
Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union first became a partner in the project in 2009. Our first participating school was Konawaena Elementary School which began it's participation in January 2010. Within the first five months at Konawaena there were over 90 participating students who saved over $7,000. With this project we work directly with a participating elementary school to schedule Deposit Days throughout the school year. Enrolled students bring their deposits to school the morning of a scheduled Deposit Day. Credit Union staff are available to accept the deposits.
