Membership Eligibility

Membership in Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is open to individuals who live, regularly work, worship, attend schools or perform volunteer services on the Island of Hawaii. Membership is also open to household members or immediate family members of existing members, whether they live in Hawaii or not. Businesses and other legal entities located on the Island of Hawaii are also eligible to join. Immediate family members are defined as grandparents, parents, step-parents, spouses, siblings, step-siblings, children, adopted children, step-children and grandchildren. Household is defined as persons living in the same home and who maintain a single economic unit. This includes any family members, domestic partners, foster children and legal guardian relationships.

 


IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
