Kanai, Sugai join HCFCU

Kailua-Kona, Island of Hawaii - Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU)
on the Island of Hawaii recently announced the addition of two employees, Arnold
Kanai and Kenneth Sugai.
Kanai was hired as HCFCU's Support Services Manager
and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Support
Services Department, which includes the Shared Draft, ACH/EFT, ATM and Compliance
departments. Prior to joining HCFCU, Kanai served as branch manager for
Central Pacific Bank, previously City Bank, in Kailua-Kona. He also held
various manager positions at other Island of Hawaii financial institutions,
including Finance Factors Limited, Norwest Financial Hawaii Inc. and American
Savings Bank. He brings to HCFCU nearly 20 years of experience in the finance
industry. Kanai, originally from Kona, attended Konawaena High School, Honolulu
Community College and University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is a member of the
Kona Lions Club.
Sugai was hired as HCFCU's Kealakekua Branch Manager
and is responsible for the overall efficient operation of the branch, ensuring
its employees provide timely and accurate services to HCFCU members. Prior
to joining HCFCU, Sugai worked in the automotive business, serving as sales
manager and finance manager for several car dealerships in Kona and on the
island of Kauai. He also worked as a mortgage broker. Both industries provided
him with expansive lending experience. Sugai is from Kona, attended Konawaena
High School and University of Hawaii at Manoa. He worked on Oahu and Kauai
for many years before returning to the Island of Hawaii in 1991. His family
has a macadamia nut farm, and his wife runs their family business, Keauhou
Nursery.
