HCFCU in the Community September 30, 2013Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union recently presented a check for $15,000 to the Hawaii Island United Way to support programs and initiatives that focus on building a healthier island community. The check represented generous donations made by their staff. In celebration of National Community Health Center Week, the Credit Union partnered with West Hawaii Community Health Center’s Give A Smile toothbrush drive held August 12-17. All five Credit Union branches served as drop off sites and collected over 2,000 youth and adult toothbrushes during the week long drive.
Staff and members of Hawaii Community FCU also raised $3,506 at the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life event. Their team placed 10th out of 38 participating teams for most money raised.
Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit credit union wholly owned by its more than 40,000 member/owners and the financial institution has branches in Honoka`a, Kailua-Kona, Kaloko, Kealakekua and Kohala.
