HCFCU Presents Free Seminar August 19, 2013Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) announces a free educational seminar on “Trusts & Estate Planning” to be held at the John Y. Iwane Credit Union Center Training Room at their Kaloko Facility on Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
The seminar will be presented by Estate Planning attorney Ethan Okura of Okura & Associates. Okura received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Columbia University School of Law in New York City as a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar and received the Parker School Certificate of Achievement in International and Comparative Law. Ethan is a member of the Probate and Elder Law Sections of the Hawaii Bar, has served on the Executive Board of the Elder Law Section, and is admitted to practice both in New York and Hawaii.
The seminar will cover topics that include Estate Planning issues such as Probate, Conservatorship, Estate Taxes, Nursing Home Costs, and Asset Protection; What is a Trust?; the different types of Trusts – Revocable/Irrevocable, Living/Testamentary, Regular/Legacy; the different uses of Trusts – Charitable, Life Insurance, Supplemental Needs, Domestic Abuse Protection, Land, Medicaid.
