People helping people.... kids helping kids.
July 28, 2011
Student Credit Union board members at Kealakehe High School carried on the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” at Target’s back-to-school shopping spree held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. But for them it was “kids helping kids”.
Families of needy students applied for the shopping spree at the Salvation Army that awarded 100 students from low-income families an $85 gift card donated by Target to shop for school supplies.
The Kealakehe SCU volunteers, along with other Hawaii Community FCU staff, helped students shop for school supplies and clothes, making the back-to-school shopping experience less stressful for the family and fun for the student. It was a rewarding experience for everyone.
