More importantly the new computers will help the students meet the Dept of Education’s Adequate Yearly Progress academic standards.

Ho`okena Elementary School Annual Golf Tournament February 17, 2011
Ho‘okena Elementary School has surpassed the benchmarks set by the Department of Education every year since the enactment of No Child Left Behind. This school year, the Hawaii State Assessment-which is taken annually by students under the provision of the No Child Left Behind Act – will be administered on the computer. Because of that, Ho‘okena Elementary School needed to raise $20,000 for new computers.HCFCU was proud to be a sponsor of Ho‘okena Elementary School’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser that helped raise funds not only for their new computers but for updated software, books, field trips and for their Million Word campaign celebrations.
