    $18,500 in Scholarships Awarded

    Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is helping eight deserving high school seniors take their first important step towards their future goals with a scholarship to a two- or four-year institute of higher learning in the coming school year.  The graduates were selected from a field of applicants from 15 Big Island High Schools.  Seven of the scholarships are named after a volunteer or a manager who made significant contributions to Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union.

    Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union held its annual Market Day at each of its five branches to celebrate International Credit Union Day and raised $20,000 to benefit The Food Basket, Hawaii Island’s Food Bank.

    HCFCU Awards $13,500 in College Scholarships

    Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the winners of its 2013 Scholarship Program.  $13,500 was awarded to six Hawaii Island high school seniors, selected from a field of over 69 applicants from 12 HawaiiIslandhigh schools, a home school and an onlineschool.    The scholarships are awarded to high school graduates planning to attend a two or four-year institute of higher learning in the coming school year.   Each scholarship is named after a community volunteer who made important contributions to Hawaii Community FCU.

    5,420 lbs. of Food Raised for Food Basket

    Staff and members of Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union donated 1,012 lbs of food and $1,422 in cash donations to the annual Food Basket Feed-A-Thon. Spokesperson, Tommy “Kahikina” Ching, equated this to 5,420 lbs. of food that will help to feed the hungry on Hawaii Island.
