2012 Chairperson and Board Of Directors
Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) is pleased to announce three new members elected and one new member nominated for a one-year term to the nine-member board of directors. Carol Ikeda, retired 4-H youth educator, University of Hawaii, and Donald Sasaki, retired owner of CAL-Kona Produce Inc., were the two new directors elected for 2 of the 3 board seats up for election. Thomas Whittemore, retired First Hawaiian Bank executive, was re-elected by the members. Mary Katayama, president of Union Products of Kona, Inc., was nominated by the Nominations and Elections Committee to fulfill a remaining one year-term seat.

There are reports from HCFCU members stating that they are receiving calls or messages from an automated system from individuals with foreign accents. The caller says "your debit card has been cancelled. If you'd like to re-activate your card, please enter your 16 digit card number or your account number."
- September 24, 2011 Our member/owners put it into words better than we ever could. You are the same ones who have also voted us the honor of the Best of West Hawaii 2011’s “Best Financial Institution.”
- September 23, 2011 Members have reported trouble with making cash withdrawals from ATM terminals in foreign countries when using their HCFCU debit cards. The issue is being worked on and will be resolved as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.
